Sculpture
I have never been able to limit myself to being a “painter” or a “sculptor”. No … limits have always been a red rag to me.
Damn! That has got me into some trouble over the years!
Sculpting presents its own range of challenges and rewards.
Small sculptures are fun, especially when combining elements from the environment such as stones from a beach, gnarled wood from a forest or old machinery bits from a farm or industrial site.
I’m always surprised at the physical demands of sculpting large pieces … but the joy of stepping back and seeing a large creation is profound.
Gray and I are busy developing a cement-and-clay based sculpting medium which I hope will bring large-scale, outdoor sculptures within an easier scope for myself and others.
